This is the time of year that, can make it or break it for a TV series. Each season TV networks have an extremely hard job of deciding, what TV-series get renewed & which ones get axed.
And 2010-11 season wasn't any easier for the TV networks, as we all know it ratings that make the final decisions.
From the US ABC network this season;
'Better Off Ted' was officially canceled on the 13th May 2010, after scoring very poorly with ratings. The series premiered with a rating score of 2.2, and the lowest score overall was 0.6 the show finished up with an average score of 1.2 but not enough to save the series.
ABC has only showed 11 out of 13 episode for season 2 after canceling the series.
'The Deep End' had a very fast run on ABC after only 6 episodes aired the series was canceled, ratings scores were averaging from 1.8 to 1.1.
'FlashForward' has also been axed by ABC, the show has been struggling to score well in the US. However international sales of the show are doing very well, but not enough for ABC to order a 2nd season. The show started with over 12 million US viewer, which very quickly dropped to just over 4 million. ABC confirmed on the 13th May 2010 that, after the current 1st season run NO more episodes will be ordered.
'The Forgotten' was confirmed axed on May 14, the show was finished without airing the final 2 episodes. As with the others axed by ABC it was ratings, the series started with over 10 million and quickly dropped off to 6 million.
'Scrubs' also canceled after 9 seasons, so I think 'Scrubs' had a great run. Was officially confirmed as canceled on 14th May.
'Ugly Betty' has finished after 4 season, ABC had told viewers back in January that season 4 would be the last season. However it is possible a 'Ugly Betty' movie could in the works.
